Wave sleeping pads consist of two separate air chambers, a bottom and a top. This means the pressure in each chamber can be regulated separately.

A common argument against inflatable sleeping pads is that the user ends up sleeping on the ground if they deflate. Thanks to the two separate chambers, this danger is greatly reduced, because if one chamber is punctured, the other will save the day.

Separating the sleeping pad into two layers also helps increase the thermal insulation and therefore user comfort in colder weather.

The sleeping pad comes with an inflation bag that keeps the amount of moisture blown into the sleeping pad to a minimum. The bag has two valves so that both chambers of the sleeping pad can be inflated at once. Simply connect the valves to the valves of the sleeping pad, “draw” air into the bag and roll it closed, then press the bag to push the air into the sleeping pad. The sleeping pad can be easily inflated like this to at least 80% of its volume.

To achieve optimal final pressure, we recommend holding the valves or inflating the pad by mouth due to increased pressure inside the sleeping pad.

The inflation bag can also be used as a Drybag and is compatible with all Pinguin sleeping pads equipped with a DLF – dual layer flat valve.

After opening the valve’s upper layer, you can easily inflate the sleeping pad without losing pressure thanks to the check valve. By pushing the check valve, pad pressure can be gently regulated. When the second layer is opened, the valve is fully open and the sleeping pad can be easily deflated.
